The Prophet

The Prophet is a book of 26 prose poetry fables written in English by the Lebanese-American poet and writer Kahlil Gibran. It was originally published in 1923 by Alfred A. Knopf. It is Gibran’s best-known work.
About the Author
KHALIL GIBRAN was a Lebanese American writer, poet, and artist. Born to Catholic parents in Bsharri, Lebanon in 1883, he migrated with his family to the USA at an early age where he studied art and started pursuing a literary career. He wrote both in Arabic and English languages and owing to the tremendous success of The Prophet, he soon became famous all over the world. As a writer and poet, Gibran composed many volumes of prose poetry that deal mostly with spiritual love. As an artist, he made over 700 images including the portraits of his friends WB Yeats, Carl Jung, and Auguste Rodin. Gibran died in New York on April 10, 1931
